Jean Vietor was born and currently resided in Indianapolis, Indiana. She studied at Lindenwood College, Indiana University Bloomington, and George Payton Commercial Art Studio. Vietor was a watercolor painter and a print maker, specializing in birds and wildlife. Her images of cardinals once graced the cover of the Indiana phone book. She was a member of the Hoosier Salon, Indianapolis Art Center, and the Indiana Artist Club.
