Estelle Peele Izor studied under William Forsyth and T.C. Steele at the Indiana School of Art (which preceeded Herron), She then attended the Chicago Art Institute, returned to Indinapolis for two years at Herron before studying with William Merrit Chase at the Art Students League in New York City and Chase's summer encampment at Shinecock on Long Island. She taught costume design and home decoration at Manual High School under Otto Stark. And she succeeded Stark as director of the art department when he retired in 1919. Izor remained at Manual High School until 1938. She is known largely for her landscapes. We're very interested in purchasing works by Estelle Peele Izor.
