Paul Jean Baus, son of noted Indianapolis painter Simon P. Baus and Edith Baus, was an artist and sculpture professor at Kent State University. He was awarded top prize at the 1948 John Herron Art Museum annual exhibition, the first artist to win such prize for sculpture submissions.
