Sally Brant Kriner was born January 29, 1911 in Bradford, OH to Walter and Pearl Brant. Her family moved to Indianapolis, where Sally attended Arsenal Technical High School. Kriner was a long time Director of the Brown County Art Guild in Nashville, IN. Known for her floral still life in both oil and watercolor, her palette is guided by soft light and pastel tones. Kriner studied with the likes of Curry Bohm, V.J. Cariani, Harry Davis, and was heavily influenced by her friend and mentor, Marie Goth. In addition to her tenure as director of the Brown County Art Guild, Kriner was a member of the Hoosier Salon, the Southside Art League, and a Fellow of the Indianapolis Art League.
