Orrin Draver was born in Alliance, Nebraska, and moved with his family to Winchester, Indiana, then to Richmond, as a boy. At age 16, he was drawing cartoons on his father's office walls, changing them weekly, and receiving praise for his talent. He joined his father in the family milling machine business, and became Vice-President. He moved to New York to join another manufacturer, then returned to Richmond and the family business. At his father's death in 1932, Orrin Draver sold the company and devoted himself to painting. Self-taught, he painted principally landscapes with native Indiana beech trees. Orrin Draver had a dealer, J. W. Young of Chicago, and he sold paintings across the country. He showed paintings at Closson's and Aronoff's Galleries in Cincinnati and as far away as Montana. There was a great demand for his paintings and he is represented in many private collections. We're very interested in puchasing artwork by Orrin Draver.
