Lillian Margaret was born in Canton, Ohio in 1896. She attended the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis and the Chester Springs Art School in Pennsylvania. While in Indianapolis, she studied with George Jo Mess, Edwin Fulwider, Edmund Brucker, Lawrence McConaha, and Charles Burchfield. Lillian worked in oil, watercolor, and pastel and primarily focused on landscapes and still lifes. She participated in many exhibitions around Indiana in addition to the National Association of Women Artists Annual Exhibition in New York. She received numerous prizes for her pastel and oil landscapes. Lillian was a member of the Indiana Artists Club, the Richmond Art Association, and the National Association of Women Artists, among others.
