The following information was submitted by a site visitor: Nancy Irvine Cupka (b. 1942) was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She received no formal art education, but took children’s classes at the John Herron School of Art and her high school art program. In 1961, Cupka married and moved to Lafayette, Indiana, and began pursuing art seriously after a bout with breast cancer. She studied with Charles Mundy, Floyd Hopper, Clay Kent, and Jerry smith. Now known for her colorful pointillism paintings, she has exhibited widely at the Hoosier Salon, the Indiana Heritage Arts Exhibition of Contemporary Indiana Artist, and at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She has also won many awards throughout the state.
