Born in Chicago, Nellie Knopf studied at the Chicago Art Institute. From 1900, she taught and later ran the art department at the Illinois Female College (renamed MacMurray College in 1930) in Jacksonville, IL. In the 1910s she spent summer summers painting with Chas. Woodbury in Ogunquit, ME. And from 1923 on, spent holidays and breaks traveling the Western United States, painting and sketching along the way. We are interested in artwork by Nellie Knopf.
